Question categories
What engineering services does SpeedEdge provide?
SpeedEdge Solutions is an engineering solutions company focused on software-defined mobility, ADAS, digital engineering, validation, functional safety and cybersecurity. We help automotive organizations address complex engineering challenges across the product lifecycle — from requirements and architecture through software development, testing, validation and compliance.
What industries and domains does SpeedEdge serve?
SpeedEdge supports Defence, Aerospace, and Automotive programmes. Work typically covers software-defined vehicles, ADAS, mission systems, and the safety and validation activity around them.
What is SpeedEdge’s Tier-0.5 engineering model?
Tier-0.5 means SpeedEdge works beside the customer’s engineering team rather than only as a distant supplier. A senior partner stays on the engagement from architecture through delivery, so ownership stays with the programme.
What ADAS and autonomous-driving capabilities does SpeedEdge offer?
SpeedEdge supports perception, object detection and tracking, and the software that connects those functions to vehicle controls. Engagements cover feature development, integration, and the validation needed before release.
What levels of autonomous-driving systems does SpeedEdge support?
Programmes range from driver-assistance features through higher levels of automation, depending on the vehicle and the safety case. SpeedEdge helps define the operating domain, the sensing stack, and the evidence required for the level being targeted.
Does SpeedEdge provide LiDAR testing and validation?
Yes. SpeedEdge runs LiDAR validation that measures range, accuracy, and object-detection performance in real-world conditions, using a repeatable test framework rather than one-off trials.
What does SpeedEdge’s LiDAR testing deliver?
The programme produces measured results for distance accuracy and detection performance, plus a record of how the sensor behaved in the conditions that were tested. Those results are written so a team can use them in reviews and release decisions.
Does SpeedEdge offer Adaptive Cruise Control for two-wheelers?
Yes. 2-Wheeler ACC is a longitudinal-assistance feature shaped around two-wheeler dynamics, including lean angle, a narrow footprint, and the rider remaining in the control loop.
How is two-wheeler ACC different from passenger-car ACC?
A passenger car can brake and accelerate inside a stable footprint. A two-wheeler has to keep the rider balanced, so gap control, acceleration, and deceleration stay inside stability limits a car controller does not have to respect.
How does SpeedEdge approach functional safety?
SpeedEdge follows the safety lifecycle from hazard analysis and safety requirements through architecture, verification, validation, and the safety case. Automotive work is aligned to ISO 26262 and SOTIF; other programmes follow the standard that applies to that domain.
Which engineering capabilities can a programme engage?
Teams can engage system software engineering, functional safety and SOTIF, AI-assisted diagnostics, object detection, ADAS and autonomous systems, and CI/CD with continuous validation. The scope is set around the gap in the current programme.
Does SpeedEdge only advise, or also build the software?
Both. An engagement can stay at architecture and safety analysis, or continue through software integration, test, and the evidence pack used for release.
How does a typical engagement start?
It starts with a short discovery on the system, the standards in scope, and the gap the team needs closed. A senior engineer stays accountable from that point through delivery.
Can SpeedEdge join a programme that is already underway?
Yes. Teams often join at architecture, software integration, or validation, and work inside the customer’s existing process and tools.
Which standards does SpeedEdge work to?
Depending on the programme, work is aligned to ISO 26262, SOTIF, DO-178C, DO-254, IEC 61508, ASPICE, MIL-STD, and UNECE R155/R156. The applicable standard is agreed before development starts.
Does SpeedEdge support cybersecurity as well as functional safety?
Yes. Cybersecurity work covers threat analysis and the controls expected by regulations such as UNECE R155, and it is planned alongside the safety case rather than added afterwards.
Which platforms and middleware does SpeedEdge use?
Automotive programmes commonly use AUTOSAR Classic and Adaptive, with CAN, Ethernet, and FlexRay network design. Tooling is chosen to match the chain the customer already uses.
How does SpeedEdge use AI in engineering work?
AI is used in perception and object detection, in health monitoring such as SE-VISION and SE-HEALTH, and in diagnostics that look for anomalies in vehicle and platform data.
What kind of partner is SpeedEdge?
SpeedEdge is an engineering partner for safety-critical and mission-critical systems. The work is built around knowledge transfer and close collaboration with the customer’s own team, not a handoff at the end of a project.
How can we speak with an engineer?
Use the contact form and include the programme, the domain, and the standard you need to meet. A senior engineer follows up on the enquiry.
